PUT ASIDE YOUR IDEOLOGIES, ELECT MAGUFULI: PM MAJALIWA

AfricaPress-Tanzania: CCM Central Committee Member, Prime Minister (PM) Kassim Majaliwa has called on Tanzanians to put aside their political ideologies and vote for development- oriented and visionary CCM Presidential Candidate, Dr John Magufuli.

Mr Majaliwa made the call during a campaign rally held at Lagangabilili Primary School grounds on Thursday, noting that Dr Magufuli deserves an additional five-year term, urging them to give him all their votes.

The PM also urged the residents to vote for Mr Njalu Silanga as the Councillor for Ligangabilili Ward under CCM ticket and all other candidates in Itilima District.

Hinting on some of the activities implemented under the CCM manifesto, the Premier disclosed a total of 3.2bn/- has been dished out by the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) for the construction and rehabilitation of roads, including the Chinamili-Nanga, Budalabujiga-Mitobo-Nguno, Lagangabilili-Migato-Ndoleleji and Inalo-Mahembe-Sawida roads.

Also, it included the rehabilitation of roads such as the Bulolambeshi – Bumera – Ndoleleji; Itilima Oil-Chinamili – Ikindilo, Gambasingu – Nkoma – Mwamapalala, Mwamapalala -Bukingwaminzi – Kinang’weli and Mwaswale – Laini – Nanga and a total of 171 culverts.

With regard to education, he said another 1.87bn/- was released for the completion of infrastructure of teachers’ houses, toilet holes and classrooms for Ngeme, Mahembe, Sawida A, Gambasingu ‘A’, Kidula, Mlimani, and Ikindilo primary schools.

Another 1.87bn/- was released to cover construction of several infrastructures in secondary schools, including dormitories, laboratories, dining halls, toilet holes and classrooms for Itilima, Kanadi, Lagangabilili and Bunamhala Mbugani.

Besides, the President ordered 920 villages out of 975 villages facing land conflicts due to their allocation as protected areas, farms, ranches, game reserves and water catchment areas to be formalised, saying such will allow farmers and livestock keepers to operate without any disturbances.

Mr Majaliwa approved for only national parks to possess a buffer zone of not less than 500 meters and not forest or game reserves as it was earlier.

As such, it was ordered that protected areas which were invaded in national parks to be left for people’s activities.

He said villages (Mbogo, Pijulu, Mwamakili, Ng’walali, Nyantugutu, Shishani, Ndingh’o and Longalambogo) located in Itilima District will be maintained in the 500 metres buffer zone from the Serengeti National Park.

In another development, the CCM Central Committee Member cited achievement recorded in Bariadi District, Simiyu Region in the past five years under the ruling party.

Mr Majaliwa noted that 28 schools, including 11 primary schools and 17 secondary schools benefited through the infrastructure improvement programme between 2015 and 2020.

He revealed that formerly the government had dished out 2.3bn/-, and on September this year another 457m/- was dished out for the completion of infrastructure in Halawa, Kilabela A, Tunge, Mwauchumu, Bukiliguu, Byuna, Chungu cha bawawa, Damidami, Masewa C, Mwashagata and Banemhi primary schools.

Likewise, a sum of 1.07bn/- was issued for the same in secondary schools, including Dutwa, Mwantimba, Gegedi, Miswaki, Mwamlapa, Nkololo, Nyasosi, Nyawa, Sapiwi, Banemhi, Gasuma, Igaganulwa, Ikinabushu, Itubukilo, Mwadobana, Sakwe and Nkindwabiye.

The PM said under the free school policy, a total of 79 primary schools received a sum of 3.12bn/- for the rehabilitation of school buildings, administration, sports and games, examinations and allowances for education and head teachers.

Also, 23 secondary schools received 1.43bn/- for fees, food for boarding students and head teachers’ allowances.

The Premier expounded that 3.2bn/- was dished out through TARURA for ordinary and major maintenance, and the construction and rehabilitation of several roads in the district.

Among the roads are Ikungulyabashashi – Ditima, Byuna – Nkindwabiye – Halawa, Igegu – Matongo Gibishi – Halawa, Dutwa- Gilya – Mwauchumu; Nyakabindi – Mwadobana – Gasuma, Kasori Centre – Kasori Ginnery and Nyamswa – Mwasubuya – Bwawani.

“I am urging you to vote for President Magufuli for president, Eng Kundo Mathew as the Bariadi Member of Parliament and Ward Councillors for Nkololo, Nyamwela Sinda among other wards in the district,” he noted during a campaign rally held at Nkololo ‘A’ Primary School.
