AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE Registration Insolvency Trusteeship Agency (RITA) yesterday received two vehicles worth 240m/- from the government of Canada through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to strengthen the management and monitoring of under-five birth registration programmes.

The Agency has been implementing Under Five Birth Registration Initiatives in all regions across Tanzania with aim of ensuring all children are registered and issued with birth certificates for their future benefits.

The RITA Chief Executive Officer Ms Emmy Hudson said that the agency now has embarked on new registration campaign to ensure that by 2022 all Under Five Children are registered and issued with birth certificate after birth.

“We believe these two new vehicles help to increase efficiency for Agency’s staff in reaching all areas across the country in order to achieve the goal. On behalf of the Tanzania government, I would like to thank development Stakeholders for the their support that have come at the right time as number of regions which we are implementing this programme require more tools to ensure that all responsibilities continue to be fully implemented,” RITA Chief Executive Officer Ms Emmy Hudson said.
