Tanroads, Tarura funds allocation ratio for review, MPs assured

THE Government has pledged to review funds allocation ratio between the Tanzania Rural and Urban Road Agency (TARURA) and Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS).

When contributing to the 2019/20 proposed budget for the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government-RALG) on Monday, the legislators argued that the funds allocated to the TARURA was insufficient considering the total length of roads that it is entrusted to construct countrywide.

Responding to MPs, Deputy Minister in the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments-RALG), Mr Josephat Kandege, said that the government would ensure that it resolves budget sharing challenge.

“We have formed a team that would review a sharing formula between the two and when this job is complete we will engage you (Mps),” Mr Kandege explained here in the Parliament.
