AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE National Electoral Commission (NEC)’s Ethics Committee has suspended the Presidential flag-bearer of Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), Tundu Lissu for seven days, effective from October 3rd , 2020, for violating election ethics.
According to a press statement issued by NEC on Friday afternoon, (September 2nd, 2020), Tundu Lissu will not do campaign until October 9th, 2020.
Lissu has been suspended for a week following NRA and CCM complaints to NEC’s ethics committee.
It was alleged that Tundu Lissu has been using provocative language and baseless accusations against CCM Presidential candidate, Dr John Magufuli.
