AfricaPress-Tanzania: President John Magufuli has promoted Musoma Ward High Court Judge, Judge Zephrine Galeba as a Judge in the Court of Appeal for his patriotism in pioneering use of Kiswahili language in court.
Addressing hundreds of Chingali residents in Dodoma Region during 100 years High Court of Tanzania’s commemoration day on Monday, President Magufuli said the decision was reached after he was impressed by the Judges verdict against Gerald Zumbi, a Tanzania who had a case with North Mara Goldmine last year in case no.23 in Musoma.
Dr. Magufuli said Judge Galeb will remain in history as the first Judge to write a passed verdict in Kiswahili language, adding that it is a sign of high patriotism in the country.
Equally, the President asked the High Court in Tanzania to make relevant reforms in their system and start using Kiswahili language in all court activities so as to render perfect services to the citizens.
Additionally, he said the changes will not only show that Tanzania is truly liberated, but also reduce unnecessary expenses of paying translators in court cases.
