ZIMBABWE PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN COUNTRY TO SAY GOODBYE PRESIDENT MAGUFULI

AfricaPress-Tanzania: The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa has been the first to arrive in the country to attend the funeral of the late President, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli which will be held tomorrow at the Republic Stadium in Dodoma.

Speaking to reporters this evening at the stadium, Government Spokesperson, Dr. Hassan Abbasi said the other presidents who will attend are Uhuru Kenyatta President of Kenya, President of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera, President of Comoros Azali Assoumani, President of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi, and President of Zambia Edgar Lungu.

Others are Namibian President Hage Geingob, Botswana President Mokwaeetsi Masisi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, DRC President Felix Tshisekedi and officials representing the presidents of the Prime Minister of Rwanda, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola and the Vice President of Burundi.

“The countries to which the presidents will send their representatives are Rwanda, Angola and Burundi and a total of 50 International and Regional Communities will send their representatives,” said Dr Abbasi.

In addition, he has invited the people to sit on the streets to greet and bid farewell to their leader once the body arrives in Dodoma today and tomorrow morning once they are heading to parliament and the Republic Stadium while urging them to continue to pray for the late Dr. Magufuli.

“I call on the people to come out in large numbers to bid farewell to our beloved former President of the United Republic of Tanzania tomorrow here in Dodoma at the Republic Stadium,” added Dr Hassan Abbasi.
