AfricaPress-Tanzania: A TOTAL of 30 Taekwondo teachers are participating in a special seminar held at the Njiro Complex, Arusha Region.
Taekwondo Tanzania (TFF) technical director Richard Kitolo said the seminar involved teachers of the game from Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions.
He said the seminar is to give them knowledge and increase their understanding of Taekwondo so that they can conform to its rules.
The seminar is run on theory and practice by trainers David Samson from Arusha and Majaliwa Patrick from Dar es Salaam.
Opening the seminar, Arusha Regional Sports Officer, Mwanvita Okeng’o urged teachers to use the expertise they will acquire in primary and secondary schools to help promote the sport in the country.
He said the government’s strategy is to produce enough professionals in every sport and said the seminars being organized help build more.
“The Taekwondo Federation should organize various competitions from the regional and national levels to help teachers evaluate themselves based on the training they receive and all continue to adhere to the rules of the game with discipline,” said Okeng’o.
Instructor David Samson said the aim of the seminar was to teach teachers to be more professional by following the rules and the world curriculum of Taekwondo.
