The tournament that was due to be staged last year, was postponed twice before being rescheduled to start from April 6th to 10 in the city. Organised by TKSA in collaboration with Africa Kabaddi Confederation (AKC), the annual continental level Championship brings together top men and women’s teams from the continent.

TKSA chairman Abdallah Nyoni told the ‘africa-press’ in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday that preparation is on a top gear as they head towards hosting a successful tournament.

Nyoni said they are delighted to have the Dar es Salaam RC Kunenge in their preparation committee and has been good supporter of the association to ensure it makes good preparations. “We commend RC Kunenge’s efforts in helping us stage a good tournament.

He is a hard working person, we understand has so many responsibilities, but he never left us alone. Other tournament committee members include the national kabaddi team patron Adarsh Sharma, the Director of Swami Vivekanda-India Cultural Centre Dar es Salaam Santosh G.R, Victoria Lukuwi and Nyoni himself.

Nyoni said they are optimistic that by April everything will be in place to enable participants to come and enjoy playing in Tanzania. National men and women’s teams pitched residential camp since mid-December 2020 to prepare for the event, according to Nyoni.

He added the tournament reschedule has given them an opportunity to prepare well. He said that over 34 players who are at camp are doing well and looking forward for the impressive show.
