DAR READIES FOR SWIMMING, LIFESAVING WORKSHOP

AfricaPress-Tanzania: ALL is set for the Kimimba Swimming Promotions (KSP), to organise a workshop for lifesavers in the country.

The day-long training is scheduled to be held on August 15th, this year at Navy beach in Dar es Salaam.

According to KSP Manager, Beatrice Mkunde, preparation for the training has already started and everything is going on well.

“On behalf of KSP, I want to inform all stakeholders that we are organising a lifesaving course in Dar es Salaam next month.

“Preparations are going on well, hopefully, many will come up for this important training, which aims to impart more knowledge and skills to lifesavers in the country,” she said.

Mkunde added that the training is scheduled to cover both theoretical and practical skills for participants. He stressed that the workshop will draw participants from both private and public organisations and agencies.

She said that door is still open for those wishing to participate to come forward and register for the event.

“We invite everyone one who wants to have this kind of knowledge, please come and join us,” she said. According to organisers, the timetable and other logistics will be provided later, so that the training is conducted successfully.

Mkunde noted that lifesavers are one of the important skills that one can have; It can be useful during crisis time.

“We a don’t wish to see any kind of bad situation, though sometimes accidents can occur at unexpected time, it is very important to have people around who have the knowledge to help or deal with this kind of service because no one knows when and where accident can occur,” said Mkunde.

She explained that KPS which was established in 2009 has been dealing with water related sports. Mkunde explained: “The main objective of the company is to conduct training in swimming and lifesaving skills.”
