AfricaPress-Tanzania: SIMBA SC yesterday announced that any club seeking to sign Clatous Chama will be compelled to pay more than 800m/- to hire his services.

Lately, the Zambian international has strongly been linked with a move to traditional rivals Young Africans ahead of the approaching next season and this prompted his current employer to open up.

However, through a post published on the Instagram page of Simba Mpira Pesa, quoted the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senzo Mazingisa saying in football, business must always be done.

“If Yanga want to sign Chama, they should follow all necessary procedures which include breaking his existing two years contract with the club plus paying 350,000 dollars equivalent to over 800m/-,” the post said.

Chama scored the 90th minute goal to send Simba into the quarter finals of CAF Champions League (CAF CL) after a 2-1 win over AS Vita.

He joined Simba in 2018 from Zambia’s Lusaka Dynamos and has since been one of the reliable midfielders at the club courtesy of his brilliant football skills.

Meanwhile, the club’s midfielder Ibrahim Ajib said he will continue with his campaign to donate whatever he has to various orphanages in Dar es Salaam during this Covid-19 outbreak.

Ajib launched his campaign late last month and has since called on others to come forward to assist orphans whom he said are going through tough times especially during this period of coronavirus pandemic.

“As you know, to give something does not mean you are rich but rather it is how you feel inside and to have a heart of assisting others. I therefore call upon others who are ready to join me throughout this campaign to do so,” Ajib said at Chakwama Orphanage located in the city.

He continued that from the three orphanages he has visited so far, he has learnt that the concerned children have not been assisted for a long time especially during this period of coronavirus as such, they feel ignored.

“I know how it is to be in such condition and live in orphanage that is why I am not afraid to extend a helping hand to reach as many of them as possible. My father passed away when I was very young and I understand the difficulties these children go through,” he said.

He added that apart from the donations, he also encourages them (orphans) to chase their dreams and never give up despite the tough times they are passing in.

“Among them, some of them have dreams to become professional football players like me as such, I usually give them encouragement to work hard to live their dreams in the future,” said he.

On his part, the centre’s Guardian Hassan Hamisi thanked Ajib for bringing coronavirus prevention items and foodstuffs saying it was a timely donation to them.

“Here, we do accommodate 64 orphans aged from 3 years to 20 years old and most of them are not aware about the measures to prevent contacting Covid-19 hence with the arrival of these materials, it will help a lot to prevent contacting the disease among them,” he said.

Ajib is so far the first renowned football player in the country to publicly announce and implement the donation exercise to the needy children which has been described by many people as a good gesture.

Among the donated items include sanitisers, soap, cooking oil, rice, flour among others.

Another Simba player who has been helping out community members during this Covid-19 period is Francis Kahata who was seen via social media platforms disbursing various items to children in his native country Kenya.

Simba still tops the Mainland Premier League table with 71 points from 29 games and are the key favorites to clinch the league title this season for three times in a row.
