AfricaPress-Tanzania: SIMBA have warned their traditional rivals Young Africans to stop pushing authorities to punish them and the legally-signed Ghanaian striker, Bernard Morrison.
The club’s Chief Executive Officer Barbara Gonzalez expressed her annoyance to Yanga for continuing to push for disciplinary action against the Ghanaian who have shown no interest with them since leaving the club.
The CEO said yesterday that although Morrison case with Yanga is not over yet their rivals should let him go as the player is no longer interested to them after crossing to Simba.
Barbara stressed that there is no need for Yanga to continue wasting valuable time by clinging to a player who is neither willing nor interested in serving the club.
“Morrison and Yanga’s case is still pending, and our legal representatives are assisting us on the case and hopefully things will well be Ok. Our traditional rivals have not given up the chase to reunite with the player, it’s like you’re in a relationship and you broke up but you’re forcing your ex-boyfriend back.”
“Yanga are fighting for someone who has moved on and does not want to be with them anymore. It does not make sense,” she added.
Morrison who was out of action in most of the first rounds of the Premier League and Champions League assignments, came back strongly in the ongoing Simba Super Cup tournament after scoring a brace in his team’s 4-1 win over Al-Hilal from Sudan.
Besides the brace, the Ghanaian had an assist which gave Zimbabwean striker Perfect Chikwende his first goal since joining his new club.
In another development Simba have confirmed that they are still waiting for the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) of the newly-signed attacking midfielder Perfect Chikwende whom they recruited from FC Platinum of Zimbabwe.
Chikwende joined the Msimbazi street-based side on the deadline of the mid-season transfer window from FC Platinum after he impressed them in their first leg of the CAF Champions League.
Chikwende scored the winner for Platinum in the first leg held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
Despite featuring the Zimbabwean striker in the match against Al Hilal, Simba are yet to get his clearance from Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), however, but still believe they will secure it soon.
Chikwende will feature in the Mainland Premier League, but not the CAF Champions League because of the regulations guiding the tournament as he has already featured in the tournament with Platinum.
Meanwhile Simba have explained the qualification of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) squad in the quarter-finals of the biennial competition (CHAN) in Cameroon is the reason behind why the club has yet to seal the services of the DRC midfielder, Doxa Gikanji.
The club disclosed that the process of signing the midfielder has to slow down to avoid rendering him ineligible for the ongoing African Nations Championship. However, Simba have insisted everything regarding the player has been finalised.
