AfricaPress-Tanzania: The Tanzania National Team, ‘Taifa Stars’ is expected to face the Libyan team in the group stage qualifying match for the African Cup of Nations ‘AFCON’ which will be played at 10:00 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
The Stars lost the previous game against Equatorial Guinea 1-0, a result that put them out of contention for a place in the qualifiers.
The winners of Group J are Tunisia with 10 points and Equtorial Guinea with nine points which even if the Stars win today’s game will not get them anywhere as they will have scored seven points which is less than those above them.
The same is true for Libya too, even if they win they will not go anywhere as they are also completing the schedule.
Despite not having the opportunity anymore, the Stars need a win that will help keep them in line with the football standards that have been issued each month by the World Football Association (Fifa).
The Stars and Libya met in the first away match which was played in Tunisia due to the country facing the chaos of the war and winning 2-1.
Today’s game could be a key for the Stars to win for the fun of fans who love to see entertainment.
