TARGET PREMIER LEAGUE STAY NEXT SEASON

AfricaPress-Tanzania: AFTER a crucial 2-0 win over Ruvu Shooting on Friday, Ihefu coach Zuberi Katwila said their primary target is to help the team remain in the top flight league next season.

The massive victory at Mabatini Stadium saw the Mbarali based outfits reviving their hopes to move away from the red zone of the 18-team table and that can only be cemented if they continue to win most of their upcoming fixtures.

A brace by Issa Ngoah was what the guests needed most especially during this second round of the competition where each team will be battling for maximum three points to help them stay at ease on the log.

“The main target of players, technical bench and management is to see the team stay fixed in the top flight league next season and to achieve that, we have to win games like the way we have today (Friday).

“What I can request my players now is to maintain the consistence of getting good results so that our objective should easily be reached,” he said.

Moreover, Katwila revealed that to a large extent, the arrival of new players who joined them during the past mini transfer window has been a pinnacle for their tangible results.

“We are thankful to new players for their additional work rate which has changed a lot the tempo of the squad mainly after beating Ruvu Shooting who are a good side and have been doing well since the start of the season,” he said.

His counterpart for Ruvu Shooting Boniface Mkwasa blamed the two blunders they made during the game as positively utilised by their opponents hence, they had to be punished.

“I think my players prior to the match had the mentality that they have already won it something which turned out to be the opposite after the game. What we need to do now is to correct the mistakes made ahead of the next league encounters on our way,” Mkwasa said.

However, the slump did not affect Ruvu Shooting a lot as they still sit comfortably on the fifth place of the ladder with 28 points from 19 matches hence their mission to end the campaign on top four is not entirely dashed.
