Africa-Press – Togo. Togo and Canada reaffirmed their will on Thursday during a meeting in Ottawa between the Minister of Commerce, Kodjo Adedze and his Canadian counterpart, Mary Ng.

The meeting, extended to delegations, covered several subjects, including the development of SMEs, the business climate in Togo, Canadian investments in the West African country, the prospect of a partnership between chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, and the future strategy of economic cooperation between Canada and the African continent.

“Canada plays a vital role on the global economic stage and is renowned for its expertise in key sectors such as innovative technologies, transportation infrastructure and natural resources. We will be able to share our experiences, identify areas where our interests converge and explore ways and means to strengthen our bilateral trade relations,” said the Togolese Minister.

According to figures published by the Togolese government, bilateral merchandise trade between Togo and Canada reached almost $65 million in 2021.
