Africa-Press – Togo. Togo will hold the presidency of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) from September 2023. The government announced this Thursday October 13, 2022.

The country, represented by the secretary general of the coffee and cocoa sector coordination committee (CCFCC), Enselme Gouthon, was unanimously elected a few days ago by the members of the international council of the OIC.

Currently vice-president, Togo will succeed Italy.

Apart from his national functions, Enselme Gouthon also represents the country at the presidency of the Robusta Coffee Agency of Africa and Madagascar (ACRAM), a continental network of producers of this variety of coffee.

Togo, where coffee is the second export crop, is world renowned for the quality of its beans.

The government said it pays particular attention to this and multiplies initiatives to improve productivity.
