Africa-Press – Uganda. President Museveni has called on leaders in the Rwenzori sub-region to champion the Parish Development Model (PDM), a government initiative aimed at integrating every Ugandan into the money economy.
Addressing leaders in Bundibugyo District, the President emphasised the importance of consistent follow-up and guidance within communities to ensure the program’s success.
President Museveni commended the people of Bundibugyo for their commitment to cocoa, palm oil, and fish farming, highlighting the success of Bernard Kacuuro’s farm as a testament to the potential of utilising land effectively.
“The success of Bernard Kacuuro’s farm serves as a powerful example that how you utilize your land is more important than its size,” he said.
The President also stressed the importance of fully implementing Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE) in government schools. “The leaders should ensure the full implementation of UPE and USE in government schools as vital steps toward empowering our children,” he emphasised.
President Museveni described the PDM as a transformative initiative designed to drive development at the household level.

The President urged leaders to play a proactive role in guiding their communities and ensuring the program’s success. “To ensure its success, it is essential for the leaders to provide consistent follow-up and guidance within their communities,” he said.
