Africa-Press – Uganda. Coca Cola Beverages Uganda on Thursday shared joy with travellers upcountry in Namayiba bus park.
As part of the ongoing “Share a Coke” campaign the beverage company created personalized moments in a bid to strengthen social connections by featuring individual names on bottles, encouraging people to share a Coke.
During the impromptu visit by officials from CCBU members distributed sodas to travelers in buses to upcountry destinations including Gulu, Burundi, South Sudan and Nairobi.
The move aimed at facilitating interactions and building lasting memories left many excited.
“The passengers are thrilled not just by the refreshing taste of Coke, but also because the bottles have their names on them,” said Jimmy Ogwal, the manager for Mega Buses in Namayiba park.
“Coca-Cola has set a great tone for the travellers as they begin their journeys. On behalf of all bus park operators, I want to thank them for this heartwarming initiative.”
Etoo Christina, a staff member at Bebeto Buses, echoed similar sentiments.
” The drink tastes as good as ever, and the names on the bottles really got us smiling. On behalf of our clients, I thank Coca-Cola and hope they come back again.”
David Wathum, who received a bottle labeled with a name, said the gesture meant more than just refreshment.
“From today onwards, I’ll be searching for my name, ‘David,’ wherever Coke is sold,” he said. “What Coca-Cola has done is more than just giving us a drink. It helped even those who boarded buses without money for snacks to have something along the way.”
