Africa-Press – Uganda. First Deputy Prime Minister and Kamuli District Woman Member of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has officially declared her intention to seek re-election to the parliamentary seat she has held for over three decades.

Kadaga picked nomination forms from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala, signaling her readiness to contest in the party primaries ahead of the 2026 general elections.

She first entered Parliament in 1989 and has maintained a strong political presence in the Kamuli District ever since.

Her re-election bid comes as the NRM gears up for competitive internal races across the country.

Kadaga, who also serves as the Minister for East African Community Affairs, has not yet revealed when she plans to return her forms or launch her campaign.
