Africa-Press – Uganda. The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Hajjat Farida Nalukenge, a respected medical professional and dedicated member of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) medical team.

In a statement Mubaje on behalf of the National Management Committee of UMSC and in his personal capacity extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Haj Muhammad Nsubuga and his family following the loss of his wife.

Dr. Nalukenge passed away on the night of Wednesday, June 25, 2025, shortly after returning from the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Describing her death as “a great loss to the nation, particularly to the Muslim community,” the Mufti praised her outstanding service in the health sector, noting that she had worked in various health facilities across the country.

“She led a righteous and exemplary life and passed away after fulfilling one of Islam’s greatest obligations the Hajj pilgrimage,” Mufti Mubaje stated.

Dr. Nalukenge was part of the UMSC medical team that accompanied Ugandan pilgrims to the Holy Sanctuaries of Makkah and Madinah during the 2025 Hajj.

The Mufti prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul and asked that she be granted a place in Paradise.

He also offered prayers for strength and patience for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
