Africa-Press – Uganda. Uganda has welcomed a group of Turkish influencers who are in the country on a farmiliarzation trip as one of the ways of prompting the country’s tourism.
The leading digital influencers and tour operators from Turkiye will have a week-long familiarization trip aimed at showcasing Uganda’s unique tourism experiences and positioning the country as a preferred destination for the Turkish travel market.
The fam trip is organized by the Embassy of Uganda in Ankara.
Speaking during a press conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Uganda’s Ambassador to Turkiye, Nusura Tiperu, emphasized the significance of the initiative in strengthening bilateral relations through tourism and cultural exchange.
“This familiarization trip is not simply a tour; it is an invitation to experience Uganda as our people live it—rich in nature, alive with culture, and filled with opportunity. It is a demonstration of the friendship between Uganda and Türkiye, and of the boundless potential we can unlock together,” Tiperu said.
She underscored the rationale behind bringing Turkish influencers for a fam trip to Uganda.

The influencers—comprising photographers, travel content creators, vloggers, and lifestyle ambassadors— will have an immersive journey through Uganda’s iconic tourism attractions, including Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Mountain Gorilla trekking, and the vibrant culture of Kampala.
The senior presidential advisor on tourism, Lily Ajarova underscored the role of the familiarization trip.

She noted that the presence of Türkiye’s top digital influencers is a testament to the changing landscape of global travel and the immense role that digital storytellers play in shaping perceptions, inspiring wanderlust, and building bridges between peoples and nations.
“Uganda is a country of unmatched biodiversity and authentic cultural richness. From the thunderous Murchison Falls to the quiet majesty of our Mountain Gorillas, from our vibrant cities to our sacred heritage sites—Uganda is not just a destination; it is a discovery,” Ajarova said.
“We are a young and energetic nation with a clear vision—to grow tourism into a transformative engine for economic development, jobs, conservation, and community well-being. This vision is outlined in our national strategies and is being implemented with targeted investments in tourism infrastructure, conservation, and international partnerships.”
According to Ajarova, the collaboration with the Ugandan Embassy in Ankara, supported by local tourism stakeholders, is an important milestone.
“ We are deliberately pursuing new source markets and Türkiye, with its dynamic population, cultural appreciation, and growing outbound tourism, presents a significant opportunity.”
