Africa-Press – Uganda. Next Media’s Bureau Chief for the Teso Sub-region, Eddy Enuru, has graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communication Studies from Cavendish University Uganda, marking a milestone in his decade-long career in journalism.
His achievement highlights resilience, self-drive, and dedication to both his profession and community.
Born in 1987 in Acandiang Village, Ocokican Sub-county, Soroti District, Enuru developed a passion for storytelling and giving a voice to his community early in life.
His journalism career began shortly after completing Senior Six in 2012, when he joined local radio stations, laying a foundation that would later span both radio and television broadcasting.
Enuru pursued a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Institute of Management Science and Technology in Mbale.
During this period, he interned at Veritas Radio and continued volunteering for a year, gaining practical experience that propelled him into mainstream reporting.
His career breakthrough came in 2016 when he began freelancing with NBS Television while remaining active on radio.
Between 2019 and 2021, he worked at Mama Bukedea Radio Station, advancing from Deputy News Editor to Chief News Editor and Presenter.
In 2022, after years of freelancing, Enuru was officially absorbed into NBS Television and appointed Bureau Chief for Teso Sub-region, a position he holds with distinction.
Balancing a demanding newsroom career with self-sponsored higher education at Cavendish University, Enuru describes his graduation as a testament to resilience and hard work.
Raised in a rural family of 12, the second born to a retired primary school teacher and a peasant farmer, Enuru credits his parents for instilling values of humility, responsibility, and perseverance.
Today, he is celebrated as a respected journalist with over a decade of experience, known for ethical reporting and amplifying voices from Teso and beyond.
