Africa-Press – Uganda. China Town, a supermarket in Kampala has announced week-long celebrations to mark its first anniversary.
The supermarket on Friday said the celebrations from September, 1 to 7 will see them give back to customers through discounted products at the stores.
During the start of the celebration, the China staff participated in cake cutting and served every customer that entered the supermarket in a gesture of love.
“Because of everyone’s contribution, we have grown so fast. We set out to make a difference in Uganda, and a year later, we are changing lives. This past year has been a journey of learning, determination, collaboration and trust with our customers,” said Feng Kun, one of the managers at China Town’s Lugogo branch.
The coming of China Town, a new retail store fomented tension among the local retail market in Uganda.
Since its opening, there has been a notable buzz among shoppers eager to explore what they perceive as affordable shopping options.
