Last-minute Christmas shopping in Kaberamaido

Africa-PressUganda. CHRISTMASThe big day is finally here and Christians in every corner of Uganda have joined others across the globe to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.Of course Christmas means a time of festivity and what is a festive season without food?So it is unsurprising that some of the residents of Kaberamaido district in eastern Uganda climbed out of their beds early and headed straight to the market to buy whatever they will need for a sumptuous culinary production in their respective homes. As you would expect, Kaberamaido Main Town Market is very busy today, with buyers making last-minute home purchases.New Vision’s Michael Onyinge has been at this market and has captured the mood:__________________________
Many shoppers here are armed with mental shopping lists – and they know where exactly to find what they need. The meat area, meanwhile, has drawn many of them, who know they have to exercise patience to be served.Good business!

Be sure not to forget the tomatoes . . .

Oh, and you would have to make a return trip to the market if you forgot the onions. That’s what happens when you carry along a mental shopping list!
