Africa-Press – Uganda. The Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa, has celebrated the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) on its 10th anniversary, praising its professionalism, resilience, and commitment to ensuring Ugandans benefit from the country’s petroleum resources.

“Over the years, UNOC has demonstrated professionalism, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that Ugandans fully benefit from our oil and gas sector,” Minister Nankabirwa said.

She highlighted UNOC’s pivotal role in advancing major projects such as Tilenga, Kingfisher, EACOP, Kabaale Industrial Park, and national storage infrastructure, describing them as central to Uganda’s ambition of building a competitive, transparent, and sustainable energy sector.

“I applaud UNOC’s role in advancing these projects, which are crucial to our goal of a competitive and sustainable energy sector for Uganda,” she added.

Minister Nankabirwa also expressed gratitude to President Museveni for his strategic leadership, which she said has been instrumental in UNOC’s growth.

“The president’s consistent guidance and strategic leadership planted the seed that has grown into the UNOC we celebrate today,” she said.

She further acknowledged the support of Cabinet colleagues, Parliament, shareholders, and the dedication of UNOC’s Board, Management, and staff.

“Congratulations to UNOC on this important milestone. I look forward to the next decade of growth, value addition, and national transformation,” Minister Nankabirwa concluded.
