Africa-Press – Uganda. Ampaire Stephen Kasyaba, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate, has been declared the winner of the Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson election after defeating Julius Twinomujuni Buzaare, an Independent candidate.
The results were declared at Rubanda District Rukiko Hall at 11:45 p.m. by the District Returning Officer, Medard Nteziyaremye. Kasyaba garnered 55,318 votes, representing 74.36 percent of the total votes cast, while Julius Twinomujuni Buzaare obtained 19,079 votes, representing 25.64 percent.Speaking to our reporter after the declaration of results, Kasyaba expressed gratitude to the people of Rubanda District for entrusting him with a second term in office. He said the victory was a reflection of his performance during his first term as district chairperson.
“I pledge to continue implementing government programmes over the next five years. I will emphase on improving infrastructure in areas where it remains inadequate.”Kasyaba noted.” I want to call upon my former rivals to come and we work together by sharing ideas that aim at the development and betterment of Rubanda District.”Kasyaba adds.
