Kyabazinga Explores Deeper Ties with Algeria

Africa-Press – Uganda. The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, hosted the Algerian Ambassador to Uganda, Mourad Amokrane, at the Igenge Palace in Jinja City, in a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Busoga and Algeria.

The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in education, culture, agriculture, health, and trade, with both sides expressing interest in mutually beneficial partnerships.

“Busoga is ready to engage with Algeria in cultural exchanges, education partnerships, and language training, especially in French, to empower our youth for global engagement,” the Kyabazinga said, highlighting areas where cooperation could have long-term impact.Ambassador Amokrane praised Busoga’s rich cultural heritage and reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to peace, stability, and development.

“Algeria is committed to strengthening cooperation with Uganda and Busoga, particularly in areas of mutual interest,” he said.Uganda’s Ambassador to Algeria, Julius Joshua Kivuna, expressed readiness to facilitate concrete arrangements to translate the discussions into practical cooperation.

“They have so many areas they can share with Algeria, and they’ll look for areas to foster cooperation,” he said.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts between the Kyabazinga and Ambassador Amokrane, symbolizing goodwill and a shared commitment to closer ties.
