Africa-Press – Uganda. The family and friends of Isaac Ainembabazi Barweshaka who went missing in November last year are appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to please volunteer so that they can trace him.
Before he went missing, Ainembabazi worked as a Communication Assistant at the Government Citizen Interaction Center (GCIC) under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.Ainembabazi’s father Justus Barweshaka in an interview with Saturday Vision noted that his son went missing around November 22, 2020.”He was staying in Kampala and around November 22 his phones went off and we never got to see him again,” Barweshaka said.”I am begging anybody with information about him to please call me. Help me find my son and even if he is dead, let anybody with information about him get to us,” Bareshwaka said. His numbers are 0787949651.Benson Turamye the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Executive Director, a family friend who worked closely with Barweshaka noted that he was informed about Ainembabazi disappearance around December.”I learnt about his disappearance when his father called me on Christmas day. I tried to make enquiries and what I have been told by his colleagues at work is that he went missing around November but that his salary for November and December were sent to the bank and it’s still intact,” Turamye said.He also noted that he had enlisted the help of another family friend Bob Kagarura, a senior police officer to try and search for Ainembabazi but they have not yet found him.Kagarura noted that he tried to contact the police at different border posts to see whether Ainembabazi had gone through but they hadn’t seen him.He also noted that they were trying to secure his phone printout to try and establish who he had spoken to last.”I also advised the family to try and check out at the casualty wards, at Butabika or even possibly in mortuaries,” Kagarura said.Ainembabazi’s girlfriend Sarah Andinda noted that they had last spoken on November 10. “Anyone who may know he’s where about please inform me. The family is really concerned. Please reach me on 0700425844.”Ainembabazi’s social media accounts indicate he last posted on Facebook on November 20 at 8:51 am while on twitter his last post was on November 22, 2020 at 2:11 pm.
