ELECTION WATCH 2021 |Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat Oboi’s highly-billed campaign rally that was scheduled in Nebbi Municipality on Friday, flopped after he failed to make it in time.Amuria was expected to address the rally at 4:00 pm at Bar Ali, in Abidundu division in Nebbi Municipality, but by 6: 00 pm he had not arrived. The electoral commission doesn’t allow campaign beyond 6:00 pm. After waiting in vain, the enthusiastic supporters who had gathered to listen to him started walking away, one by one from the venue. ” We waited in vain, he was caught up, we hope another opportunity will avail itself, we still have hope that he will address the people of Nebbi Municipality, ” said Lajibiiri, who had spent a whole day mobilising for Amuriat’s rally. The FDC Presidential flag bearer, however, held a successful rally in Panyimur, Parombo, Erussi, and Kucwiny sub-county. He promised to revive cooperatives and pay residents sh100,000 per month for a period of six months to cop up with COVID-19 mayhem if elected president in this forthcoming elections.He also promised to improve the health and education sector which he said limping.Amuriat was in Nebbi last month but called off the campaigns after his team got in a nasty accident that claimed two of his party supporters at Got Panyimur in Pakwach district. It’s not clear whether Amuriat will reschedule his rally for another day. He had called it a missed opportunity for the people of Nebbi after that incident. Amuriat made a stopover the second time in West Nile this Friday afternoon at Pakwach, where he addressed supporters along the road in the town, before proceeding to Panyimur.
