Africa-Press – Uganda. The sudden death of Hajjat Nabukalu has robbed the country of a dedicated servant, who followed the NRM’s correct ideology of championing the people’s legitimate interests – President Museveni

President Museveni has expressed heartfelt condolences following the untimely death of Hajjat Nusura Nabukalu, the former deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Budaka, who tragically passed away in a road accident on Sunday along the Jinja-Iganga highway.

In a message delivered by the Minister for the Presidency, Mr Museveni contributed Shs20 million towards the burial arrangements and described the late deputy RDC as a steadfast public servant who played a pivotal role in advancing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

“The sudden death of Hajjat Nabukalu has robbed the country of a dedicated servant, who followed the NRM’s correct ideology of championing the people’s legitimate interests,” the President said.

He lauded her exemplary leadership, underscoring the role of leaders as “social doctors” responsible for addressing societal challenges such as insecurity, poverty, and disease.

“In the NRM, we consider leadership as an opportunity to solve the problems of society. Therefore, it is sad that we have lost a loyal cadre and champion of the people’s interests,” Museveni stated.

While mourning the loss, the President urged Ugandans to celebrate Hajjat Nabukalu’s life and contributions to the nation.

“We are not only mourning her death but also celebrating her achievements and service to the people of Uganda,” he added.

President Museveni extended his prayers and support to the bereaved family, urging them to remain strong during this difficult period. “May God grant you the fortitude and courage to go through this trying moment,” he said, concluding his tribute with a wish for her soul to rest in eternal peace.

Hajjat Nabukalu was laid to rest on Tuesday at Jinja Muslim Cemetery, commonly known as Jinja Kabulistan, as family, friends, and colleagues paid their final respects to a life dedicated to public service.
