Ambassador Ayebare’s diplomatic career is nothing short of illustrious. As Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations since March 2017, he has navigated complex multilateral arenas, representing Uganda’s interests on issues ranging from climate change to peace and security.
His prior roles, including Senior Adviser on Peace and Security at the African Union’s Permanent Observer Mission to the UN, Deputy Permanent Representative of Uganda to the UN, and Director of the Africa Program at the International Peace Institute, demonstrate his deep engagement with global governance.
This exposure equips Ayebare to enhance Uganda’s voice on the world stage. His appointment to the Cabinet ensures that Uganda’s foreign policy will be informed by someone with intimate knowledge of global dynamics.
For instance, his involvement in high-level meetings, such as discussions with Starlink representatives and the U.S. Ambassador to promote low-cost internet access in Uganda, underscores his ability to broker partnerships that align with national development goals.
