Africa-Press – Uganda. The National Unity Platform has officially nominated Ayume Yassin Adinan as its flagbearer for Koboko North Member of Parliament in the upcoming elections.
Ayume, who promises to prioritize the establishment of industrial hubs, as well as improved access to clean water and electricity, says his goal is to boost development and create employment opportunities in the area.
He now faces a tight contest against the incumbent MP Musa Noah, representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM), and independent candidate Asiku Elly.
Meanwhile, another aspirant, Occur Rasul, who had earlier expressed interest in the same seat, has withdrawn from the race after joining the NRM.
The race for Koboko North is shaping up to be one of the key contests to watch in the West Nile sub-region.
