Africa-Press – Uganda. Double Q, a leading automotive distributor in Uganda, has launched Heli forklifts, a Chinese brand to add onto its solutions portfolio in the country.
The move marks a key milestone in Uganda’s industrial and logistics sector.
The launch was held at Double Q’s new showroom in Busega on Friday, where the company showcased electric, gas, and diesel forklifts with capacities ranging from one to fifty-five tonnes.
Speaking at the event, Bruce Lin, Managing Director of Double Q, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Hel.
“It’s my great pleasure to stand before you today to announce the strategic partnership between Double Q and Heli Industry Vehicle Import and Export Company Limited,” he said.
Lin noted that the collaboration directly supports Double Q’s mission of delivering world-class solutions to Ugandan businesses.
“Double Q’s mission is to provide top-notch automotive and material handling solutions to the Ugandan business. And this partnership aligns perfectly with our goal, with Heli’s renowned quality, reliability and performance.”
He explained that the range of Heli forklifts introduced to the Ugandan market is diverse enough to meet the unique demands of multiple industries.
“The Heli forklift range caters to the eventual material movement needs, enabling our clients to find the perfect solution for their specific requirements, whether it’s for freight, logistics, distribution, or industrial operations.”
Lin also framed the partnership as a contribution to Uganda’s long-term economic transformation.
“We are committed to delivering exceptional material handling solutions to our customers and supporting Uganda’s economic growth,” he added.
Richard Musani, Head of Marketing at Double Q, said the addition of Heli forklifts reinforces the company’s vision of becoming a 360-degree automotive solution provider.
“Double Q is an authorized distributor for Sinotrack, GWM, XCMG as well as Heli. With Heli, we are now positioning ourselves as a 360-degree automotive solution provider.”
Musani stressed that Double Q is now the only Ugandan company offering solutions across passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, construction machinery, and material-handling equipment.
“We are the only single automotive organization in Uganda offering heavy commercial trucks, road construction equipment, material handling solutions, and passenger vehicles.”
He explained that Heli forklifts bring flexibility for customers across Uganda’s diverse industries.
“The range from 1 to 55 tonnes, and the diversity of types gas, electric, and diesel forklifts, allow our customers to meet their different needs in warehouses, factories, logistics hubs, and construction sites.”
Musani added that affordability and access are at the heart of Double Q’s offering, with innovative financing options designed to suit businesses of all sizes.
“We offer in-house financing where customers can pay 50% upfront and clear the balance over 12 months, as well as bank financing or outright purchase. This flexibility ensures any business can scale within its budget.”
Representing Heli globally, Frank Song praised Double Q for helping the forklift brand break into Uganda’s industrial market.
“Today we are gathered here to witness the grand opening of the new Double Q showroom. This is not just a completion of a showroom, it marks a significant milestone in China–Uganda economic and trade cooperation.”
Song highlighted Heli’s legacy as a leading forklift manufacturer and its unrivaled position in the Chinese market.
“Heli was established in 1958, and since 1991 it has been China’s number one forklift brand. We provide a full range from 1 to 55 tons, and even heavy-duty solutions reaching up to 70 tons.”
He commended Double Q’s efforts in popularizing Heli forklifts in Uganda, where sales have quickly gained traction.
“Since last year, Heli has joined hands with Double Q. In just one and a half years, the market share has been more than 50%—a historic breakthrough.”
Song further explained that the new showroom will double as a hub for training and capacity building.
“This showroom carries three major missions: to showcase products, to train and cultivate professional sales and service people in Uganda, and to promote the development of logistics locally.”
