Africa-Press – Uganda. Fans and players took part in a charity walk around Kabale town, collecting contributions ranging from cash to food items to support the team financially.
At the end of the first round, Kigezi Homeboys secured second place on the league table with 25 points, positioning themselves as strong contenders for promotion.
Julius Musinguzi, chairperson of the Kigezi Homeboys Fans Club, revealed that club management has completed four new signings expected to reinforce the squad for the second round. He stressed that continued fan support will be crucial in securing victories both at home and away.
“To be honest, running and maintaining the club is costly. Earning promotion to the Super League would be difficult without strong backing from supporters,” Musinguzi said.
Devoted fan Joram Mugume expressed confidence in the team’s prospects, citing the strong squad and capable technical staff assembled by management.
Team captain James Tukyi also affirmed that the players are fully prepared for the upcoming fixtures.
“The squad is determined to work harder in the second round to ensure qualification for the Super League,” Tukyi said.
The second round of the Fufa Big League is scheduled to begin on February 22, 2026, with Kigezi Homeboys set to face Karokarungi in Ntungamo District.
