Africa-Press – Uganda. The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party is in mourning following the passing of former Ngora District Woman Member of Parliament, Stella Isodo Apolot.

The requiem service is underway at her home in Osigiria Village, Ngora Town Council, where she will be laid to rest.Among those attending are FDC Party President Patrick Amuriat and former Presidential candidate and Party Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi.

Apolot, who served as Ngora District Woman MP on the FDC ticket, died on January 17, 2026, at the age of 51 after a brief illness. She had recently lost her re-election bid just days before her passing.

Speaker of Parliament Anita Among described Apolot as a “servant leader whose contribution to Parliament and her community will be remembered,” highlighting her advocacy for women’s rights and education, as well as her calm demeanor and commitment to duty.

The Uganda Women Parliamentary Association (UWOPA) Chairperson Sarah Opendi praised Apolot for her reliability, generosity, and dedication to parliamentary work.

“Whenever we had activities under UWOPA and you called her at short notice, she would actually be there,” Opendi said.

Apolot is survived by her husband, Samuel Isodo, a lawyer, and their three children.
