UGDecides2021 |The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has fielded Hamusini Mudedeere to replace his late brother, Abdullah Nsone, 42, who died in an accident in Iganga last Tuesday.This was announced by the FDC secretary-general, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, who had accompanied the party presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriat, to the deceased’s family on Tuesday at Katiryo village in Buseeta sub-county, Kibuku district.Nandala said they found it prudent for the party president to pay a visit to Nsone’s family to express his condolences.Later, Amuriat officially unveiled Mudedeere as the official party parliamentary flag-bearer, although his nomination will take place next week.”It is unfortunate that we lost such an icon in the party and I did not attend his burial. As you may all be aware, when this tragic incident occurred, I was campaigning in Kigezi and Ankole regions, but at least our secretary-general represented us at the burial,” Amuriat said.Amuriat urged the people of Kibuku to empathise with Nsone’s family and FDC as a party by supporting his brother Mudedeere as the next Member of Parliament for Kibuku county.Amuriat in Sebei sub-region.After traversing Bukedi sub-region, Amuriat yesterday took his campaigns to Sebei sub-region. He started his journey with Kween district and Bukwo, but failed to campaign in Kapchorwa district because he reached there when it was past campaign time. While addressing his supporters at Amanang trading centre in Amanang sub-county, Bukwo district, Amuriat promised to build a road connecting Kapchorwa and Suam to the Uganda-Kenya border to ease the transportation of goods from both countries.He also promised to tarmac the road from Ngenge connecting to Bukwo-Suam.Amuriat also addressed a rally at Riwo main trading centre in Bukwo district, where he vowed to address the problem of water shortage and the poor road network.He made another stopover at Kiriki trading centre in Kiriki sub-county, Kween district, and another mini rally at Korete trading centre in Kirigi sub-county in the same district.Amuriat also pledged to develop the high-altitude training centre in Sebei sub-region for the athletes.He said he will put them on a monthly pay with intent to promote sports in the region.Today, Amuriat is expected to campaign in Namisindwa, Manafwa, and Mbale districts.
