Africa-Press – Uganda. The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced that the 2026 edition of the FUFA Juniors League will begin on Saturday, March 7, with sixteen junior teams from the Uganda Premier League set to compete.

The tournament will be played over three rounds on a league format, with participating teams divided into two groups of eight, named Treble and Hat-trick.

The Treble group features Entebbe UPPC FC JT (Wakiso), Vipers SC JT (Wakiso), URA FC JT (Wakiso), Express FC JT (Kampala), SC Villa JT (Kampala), Lugazi FC JT (Buikwe), BUL FC JT (Jinja) and Mbarara City FC JT (Mbarara).

In the Hat-trick group, clubs include Calvary FC JT (Yumbe), Kitara FC JT (Hoima), Buhimba United Saints FC JT (Hoima), UPDF FC JT (Luweero), NEC FC JT (Kampala), Maroons FC JT (Kampala), KCCA FC SA (Kampala) and Police FC (Kampala).

Teams are allowed to register up to 25 players each, including three goalkeepers. Squads must feature five players born in 2008 with at least one goalkeeper, fifteen players born in 2009 and 2010 with at least one goalkeeper, and five players born in 2011, again with at least one goalkeeper.

According to FUFA’s schedule, the full fixture list will be released on 9th February, followed by age verification for players between 20th and 22nd February, ahead of the official kick-off.

Clubs must also submit essential player registration documents, including signed parental consent forms, National IDs, NIRA birth certificates or passports, player passport forms, and first-time registration forms.

Shirt numbers for all players will range from 41 to 70.

The FUFA Juniors League is part of the federation’s wider youth development programme, aimed at creating competitive opportunities for young talent, supporting player identification, and fostering long-term growth across Ugandan football.
