Africa-Press – Uganda. Former Internal Security Organisation(ISO) boss, Brig Ronnie Balya has described the late Brig Charles Oluka as a professionally grounded.
“He served under me when I was DG.ISO, from 2010-2017 as director technical operations and later as Director Security. I found him ideologically and professionally well-grounded,” Brig Balya said in his condolence message.
Brig Charles Oluka who had served as ISO boss since 2020 died on Wednesday evening after getting heart complications.
In his condolence message, Brig, Balya who is currently serving as Uganda’s ambassador to South Sudan said where Gen Oluka’s death inflicts pain, he is comforted by the fond memories and his great contribution to his country.
“In terms of conduct and performance. the late Charles has lived his years well. He has left a good legacy for the current and future generations to protect and emulate,” Brig Balya said.
“We therefore. thank God lor the gift of life of General Oluka.”
The deputy speaker, Thomas Tayebwa on Thursday described Oluka as a hard-working senior army officer who had rejuvenated the image of the ISO during his tenure.
“Brig Gen Oluka was a dedicated and committed officer who worked tirelessly to restore the reputation of the ISO.His efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we recognize his contributions to the organization and the country,” Tayebwa said.
