Government has warned all bereaved families, funeral companies and companies against the signing of condolence and visitors’ books; since it heightens the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement released by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Henry Mwebesa says, ” Evidence has shown that Coronavirus lasts on surfaces such as paper up to five days and therefore the condolence books and pens are a super spreader of the virus.”He adds, “The health ministry strongly urges the public to stop signing condolence books and visitors books during events and funerals to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 among the communities.”
