Outgoing Kagadi Town Council Principal Town Clerk, Geoffrey Mugisa, has called on leaders in Kagadi to remain focused on transforming the town into a municipality.

Speaking at a handover event held at Emeline Hotel, Mugisa reflected on his tenure and expressed optimism for Kagadi’s future as he transitions to his new role as City Clerk for Mbale.

“When I arrived here in 2017, the town council was disorganized. Through teamwork and dedication, we now have better roads, streetlights, and modern buildings. We are well on our way to achieving municipal status,” Mugisa said, urging stakeholders to continue striving for progress.

Mugisa’s term was marked by significant strides in infrastructure and service delivery. Kagadi District Chairman Ndibwami Yosiya praised his leadership, noting the transformative impact on the town.

“Under Mugisa’s guidance, Kagadi has become more organized and is truly ready for municipal status,” he said.

Incoming Town Clerk John Isingoma, formerly of Muhooro Town Council, pledged to build on Mugisa’s achievements.

“I am honoured to serve Kagadi and will work closely with all stakeholders to drive our development agenda forward,” Isingoma said.

The handover event brought together local leaders and residents, who commended Mugisa for his dedication and commitment to public service.

Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho emphasized the importance of continued collaboration.

“We trust Mbale City will benefit from Mr. Mugisa’s expertise, and we pledge full support to Mr. Isingoma as he takes on this role,” she stated.

Kagadi Town Council Mayor Geoffrey Businge echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude to Mugisa for his contributions and welcoming Isingoma with optimism.

The event featured speeches, gift presentations, and cultural performances as Kagadi leaders celebrated a legacy of progress and prepared for a new chapter of development.
