Africa-Press – Uganda. Group Chief Executive Officer of Next Media Services, Kin Kariisa, has underscored the company’s strategies for thriving in crises, highlighting the crucial role of technology and innovation in enhancing operational resilience.

Kariisa made these remarks after delivering a keynote address at the Media Owners Association of Zambia’s General Meeting on Wednesday, where he focused on media sustainability in a rapidly evolving industry.

The event, held in Lusaka, featured President Hakainde Hichilema as the Guest of Honour, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting media resilience.

In his address, Kariisa addressed pressing challenges such as power shortages, the proliferation of fake news, and the urgent need for innovation within the media sector.

“It was heart-warming to see leaders like President Hichilema taking note of our approaches,” Kariisa stated, expressing enthusiasm over Zambia’s decision to send a delegation to Uganda to learn from Next Media’s successes.

Later in the day, Kariisa returned to discuss the role of diversification in empowering media houses to not only survive but also to positively impact communities across Africa.

He emphasised his belief that the future of media lies in collaboration and community engagement.

Additionally, Kariisa engaged with key media organisations in Zambia to explore potential collaborative opportunities, reaffirming his commitment to building stronger media ecosystems across the continent.

Costa Mwansa DTV, President of the Media Owners Association of Zambia, expressed gratitude to Kariisa for his insights and participation, highlighting the significance of such dialogues in enhancing media practices in the region.
