Katikkiro Urges Baganda to Uphold Wisdom to Preserve Kingdom Values

Africa-Press – Uganda. The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has emphasized the vital role of wisdom among the people of Buganda in sustaining and protecting the Kingdom.

Speaking at the funeral of Hajjat Madina Nakasinde, mother of Hajji Sulaiman Magala, Chief of Butambala County, on Tuesday, Mayiga highlighted the lasting impact of parental guidance on nurturing children capable of defending the dignity and heritage of Buganda.

He noted that in many nations, traditional leadership has often struggled or disappeared due to a lack of wisdom and foresight among the people.“The Kingdom of Buganda could not have survived if the people of Buganda did not demonstrate wisdom. This wisdom has been passed down through the generations, starting with the leadership of our county chiefs, exemplified by Hajji Magala. I urge all Baganda to strengthen this wisdom so that our Kingdom remains intact,” he said.

Mayiga expressed his condolences to Hajji Magala and the people of Butambala on the passing of Hajjat Madina Nakasinde, describing her as a woman of great significance.

“A mother plays an enormous role in the life of every individual. Her teachings and upbringing shape children who can uphold the honor and traditions of Buganda. We pray that God grants her soul eternal rest,” he said.Hajji Magala paid tribute to his late mother, thanking her for her tireless efforts in raising and educating children who grew to become knowledgeable and successful individuals.

In his remarks, the Minister of Local Government, Kabaka’s Tours and Diaspora Affairs, Joseph Kawuki, praised Hajjat Madina’s dedication, noting that her commitment to nurturing well-rounded, responsible, and educated children helped Hajji Magala serve Buganda and the Kabaka with excellence.

Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, the Supreme Mufti, commended the deceased for raising responsible children and encouraged wives to honor and respect their husbands.
