Africa-Press – Uganda. Kitara Football Club emerged as one of the biggest winners at the Local Football Awards 2024, held on Friday evening at Rivonia Suites, Bugolobi, in a ceremony that brought together key stakeholders in Ugandan football.

The club’s Chief Executive Officer, Joshua Atugonza was honored as Best Club CEO, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and transformative impact on Kitara FC.

Atugonza was honored for guiding the club to a national powerhouse both on and off the pitch.

Kitara FC was also named best men’s team of the 2024 season after winning the Uganda Cup in May 2024.

The club’s former striker, Denis Omedi, scooped the best player award, capping off a remarkable year where he led the scoring charts and inspired the team to glory including scoring a rabona against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8.

In the operations and support categories, Nathan Karugaba was awarded best stadium steward, acknowledging his commitment to matchday safety and fan experience.

Additionally, Dr. Enock Kayondo was recognized as the best male medical officer, applauded for his critical role in maintaining player fitness and welfare throughout the season.

“These accolades are not mine alone—they belong to the entire Kitara family. From the players and technical team to the stewards and fans. We are proud to represent Bunyoro with honor,” Kitara CEO Atugonza said.

The team is currently regrouping for pre -season activities ahead of the coming league season.
