KAMPALA – The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) on Sunday evening clarified that Frank Senteza, the bodyguard to the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, fell off a moving vehicle and was not crushed to death as earlier claimed.Defence spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso noted in a statement, “UPDF would like to clarify that the late Senteza, a NUP close protection person was not knocked by a military police vehicle as earlier purported, but rather fell off a speeding car registration number UBF 850z he tried to jump to but failed.”Army sources noted the car in question was part of Kyagulanyi’s convoy that has been accompanying him in his rallies and campaigns.Kyagulanyi, while announcing Senteza’s death noted he had been run over by a military police patrol truck Number H4DF 2382 which had blocked them in Busega “as we were taking Kasirye Ashraf a journalist who was injured today for emergency medical attention in Rubaga hospital”.Senteza passed on this afternoon at Rubaga hospital while being attended to.It, however, remains unclear whether the area had CCTV cameras to help resolve the matter.
