Africa-Press – Uganda. Kyagwe and Ssingo claimed vital first-leg victories in the Buganda Masaza Cup semi-finals, setting up an exciting second leg that will determine who advances to the championship final.
At Mubende PTC Ground, Kyagwe narrowly defeated Buweekula 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter. Geoffrey Ssenyonga’s well-taken second-half strike proved decisive, giving Kyagwe a slender advantage going into the return fixture.
In the other semi-final, Ssingo edged Bugerere 2–1 at Ntenjeru Saza Ground in Kayunga District.
Ismail Rwamitala and Shaban Kayongo found the net for Ssingo, while Henry Wamala scored Bugerere’s consolation goal.
Ssenyonga and Rwamitala were named Pilsner Lager Men of the Match for their influential performances that guided their respective sides to victory.
Both return legs promise intense football as Kyagwe and Ssingo aim to defend their leads, while Buweekula and Bugerere will be desperate to overturn the deficits and keep their title hopes alive.
