The State Minister for Disability and Elderly Affairs, Hajjati Sarah Kanyike has warned the youth to avoid riots around the county during this campaigning period.
While addressing the press, the minister said a number of youths have engaged in riots to express their dissatisfaction with the current government, but this can’t work out for them.Kanyike says that a number of people with disabilities were greatly affected during the recent riots as the youth protested against Robert Kyagulanyi’s arrest and called for calm amongst the youth during the 2021 elections.Kanyike said Government will distribute grants worth sh1.2b to 248 groups of people with disabilities across the country in the second quarter of the year 2020/2021 with each group receiving a sum of sh5m.She urged leaders to sensitise their people about the grants so as to enable them benefit from the Programme.
