Ntungamo Intensifies Grassroots Mobilization for Museveni Support

Africa-Press – Uganda. The Mzee Tova Ku Main movement in Ntungamo District has embarked on a vigorous grassroots mobilization campaign aimed at securing overwhelming support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Local leaders under the campaign say they are determined to deliver a 100 percent vote for the President, emphasizing the peace, stability, and development that have flourished under his leadership.

The mobilization drive involves extensive community engagement, with members moving door-to-door to ensure that every household pledges support for the NRM flag bearer.

“We are on the hunt for Museveni’s vote because of the peace he has created in this country. We shall walk house to house to ensure that in Ntungamo District, where the President and First Lady were born, we make it with 100%,” said Jackson Karuhanga, Chairman of Mzee Tova Ku Main, Ntungamo District.

Karuhanga added that members of the movement conduct their activities both in the morning and evening, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.

“The members of Mzee Tova Ku Main walk in the morning and evening. They are committed. We must make it to 100%,” he emphasized.

He further noted that community response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many locals expressing appreciation for the President’s longstanding contribution to national development.

“The communities are appreciating the President for the great work done,” Karuhanga said.

The campaign’s scope, he added, extends beyond the presidential race to include mobilization for all NRM flag bearers.

“We are also in search of the vote for all NRM flag bearers,” he said.

Samuel Ndyabahika, Deputy Spokesperson of Mzee Tova Ku Main Ntungamo District, said the initiative reflects the pride and loyalty of residents toward the First Family, who hail from the district.

“This is the motherland of the First Family, and we are looking forward to supporting it and looking for more votes. We want other Ugandans to learn from Ntungamo — support the President 100%. We have started from the villages and we shall continue to all areas soliciting votes for our President,” Ndyabahika said.

Edna Barihamwe, the Vice Chairperson of NRM Tova Ku Main Ntungamo, highlighted that women and girls have benefited immensely from the NRM government through education, empowerment, and expanded leadership opportunities.

“We have grown up under NRM and have been enlightened about the good of family, education, and planning for development,” she said.

Barihamwe also credited President Museveni for promoting inclusivity and freedom of expression among Ugandans.

“Under President Museveni, our voice has been heard. We can speak, we have freedom, and we can also serve in leadership positions,” she said.

The ongoing mobilization efforts are part of a broader national campaign to strengthen the NRM’s grassroots structures and reaffirm its political dominance ahead of the 2026 elections.

In Ntungamo — regarded as the political cradle of the First Family — local leaders say they intend to make the district a model of unwavering loyalty and unity behind President Museveni’s leadership.
