Africa-Press – Uganda. The Ekyoto Ha Mpango Music Festival lit up the historic Karuzika Palace grounds in Fort Portal as Pilsner Lager joined the Tooro Kingdom in celebrating the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

As the official partner of the festivities, Pilsner Lager brought people together to honour the rich heritage and dynamic spirit of the kingdom, reinforcing its status as “the true King’s beer.”

Thousands of revellers poured into the palace grounds, where cultural pride met modern celebration. At the heart of the festivities was the Pilsner Cultural Village, a buzzing social hub where friends toasted to the King with Pilsner’s popular 4-for-10k deal, played traditional drums, and celebrated Tooro’s identity through crafts and conversation.

“It is an absolute honour to join in the celebration of the 30-year reign of the Omukama of Tooro at Karuzika Palace,” said Lillian Kansiime, Pilsner Representative, Uganda Breweries Limited.

“This milestone alludes to the King’s commitment to preserving Tooro’s rich heritage while championing growth and development — values that align with us as the true King’s beer.”

The night’s entertainment kicked off with sets from DJs Ken and Hash, followed by live performances from Aliddeki Brian, Zaya Rosette, and Big Doug, warming the crowd ahead of the highly anticipated cultural showcase.

The House of Talent Cultural Performers took the stage with electrifying displays of traditional music and the iconic amakondere dance, stirring emotions and national pride among the attendees.

When Omukama Oyo arrived at the palace grounds, he was met with thunderous applause and cheers from the gathered crowd.

At the stroke of midnight, a dazzling fireworks display lit up the Fort Portal sky, marking 30 years of his reign in dramatic fashion.

The festival’s musical journey continued with performances from Tooro’s own Iryn Hindah and Atwookie Richie, building momentum towards the grand finale.

A Queen Closes for the King

The headline act, Cindy Sanyu, took the stage in a performance befitting royalty. Running through her vast catalogue, from early hits to her latest release, “See You Tonight,” Cindy had the crowd singing, dancing, and celebrating deep into the night.

As she closed her set to roaring applause, DJ Tony took over the decks and kept the vibe alive into the early hours.

With the 30th Coronation Anniversary now part of history, Pilsner Lager reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cultural events and communities across Uganda.

“We are proud to stand with Tooro Kingdom in this historic moment and look forward to more celebrations that unite us in honour of Uganda’s vibrant cultural legacy,” said Kansiime.
