Africa-Press – Uganda. Team Thorough YKM a political pressure group allied to the National Resistance Movement has said it want to meet President Museveni to table their grievances.
John Mugisha, National coordinator of Team Through YKM, told journalists that since the 2021 elections, they have been denied access to Museveni, the NRM national chairman.
“Therefore, we decided to petition him through a peaceful walk and hand him our concerns,” said Mugisha.
Mugisha said the party has failed to implement key issues within the 2021 NRM manifesto.
They say they have canvassed support for the NRM for two terms but their efforts have not been appreciated.
“We are tired of being used during elections yet after the party victory we are forgotten. We have decided to petition the president through a peaceful walk and hand him our concerns. We call upon all our national coordinators from the various regions to join us in our upcoming peaceful walk to Kololo on April 25, 2025,” Mugisha said.
They also queried the co-existence of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a pressure group associated with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba saying its duplicating the party work.
