Africa-Press – Uganda. Tooro Princess Ruth Komuntale has urged Ugandan youth to take pride in their cultural identity, uphold traditional values, and anchor their lives in faith as a pathway to personal and community success.
She made the call during an interactive dialogue with students from universities and institutions across the country, just days after returning home for the 30th coronation anniversary of her brother, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, set for September 12.
As part of her visit, Princess Komuntale and her husband toured Next Media Services, the parent company of NBS Television, where they engaged with staff and explored innovations in media and youth-led creativity.
During the youth dialogue, she encouraged participants to remain grounded in their traditions while confidently representing their heritage both locally and abroad.
“With God, nothing is impossible,” she told the gathering, stressing the importance of spiritual foundations in shaping resilient futures.
Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa welcomed Princess Komuntale, advising young people to use digital platforms responsibly, turning them into tools for empowerment and economic opportunity rather than negativity.
Bunyoro Kingdom Youth Minister Nicholas Mugume commended the engagement and highlighted parallel youth empowerment initiatives in his region, including plans for a technical training hub. Many attendees described Princess Komuntale as relatable, inspiring, and deeply rooted in cultural values.
Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister, Calvin Rwomire Armstrong, revealed that preparations for King Oyo’s coronation anniversary are in high gear, with key highlights including the baptism of Princess Komuntale’s child and an official visit by Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among.
The Princess’s engagements underscore Tooro Kingdom’s vision of positioning itself as a cultural and development hub, with youth empowerment, heritage preservation, and digital innovation at the core of its agenda.
