Africa-Press – Uganda. Prophet Elvis Mbonye has spearheaded the launch of the Remnant Identity Coalition, a new faith-based alliance aiming to unify the Church and reassert its influence in global affairs.

The coalition was officially unveiled during a large assembly at Zoe Grounds on July 25, drawing thousands of Gospel ministers from across Uganda and beyond.

Described as a global network of faith leaders, the Remnant Identity Coalition seeks to establish the Church as the dominant moral and ideological compass in all spheres of life—from governance and economics to education and culture.

“As far as the grace of God is concerned, the church lacks nothing. The agenda of the kingdom of God must take precedence,” declared Prophet Mbonye during his keynote address.

“It is time to end the era where secular systems dictate the direction of society.”

The event, according to organizers, marks the beginning of a strategic awakening for the Church, anchored in a message of unity, sovereignty, and readiness in the face of global ideological shifts.

Prophet Mbonye framed the initiative as a spiritual realignment aimed at correcting what he described as the Church’s marginalized status during the global pandemic lockdowns.

Among the influential religious figures in attendance were:

Pastor Simeon and Celia Kayiwa of Namirembe Christian Fellowship

Bishop Grivas Musisi of Prayer Palace, Kibuye

Reverend Irene Manjeri of Bethel Healing Centre

Bishop Munene Edward, NAFBAC overseer for the Busoga Region

Bishop Tomusange of the Born-Again Faith Federation (BAFFE)

Pastor Kizito Joseph, General Secretary of the Cooperation for Pentecostal and Evangelicals (COPE)

Dick Lwegaba, Prime Minister of COPE

The meeting also featured other notable participants such as Bishop David King (Hoima), Apostle Sterling Muwendo James (NFBAC Central), and Pastor Emmanuel Luswata (Empowerment Christian Prayer Center), among many others.

The diverse representation, drawn from across denominational lines and regional affiliations, reinforced the coalition’s theme of unity in identity and purpose.

Prophet Mbonye urged the Church to be vigilant about what he referred to as “anti-Christ systems” embedded in modern financial and governance infrastructures.

He cited Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and the push for a global cashless economy as examples of mechanisms that may be weaponized to sideline the Church.

“When global changes come, they never favor the church. It’s time to awaken, to stand together, and fight this darkness,” he warned.

“Very few believers in those global systems are like Esther—standing boldly for God. Many are complicit in stifling God’s agenda.”

Mbonye described the Remnant Identity Coalition not as a bureaucratic body, but as “a living organism” meant to foster strategic collaboration, spiritual clarity, and long-term solidarity.

“This is not about survival,” he emphasized. “It is about the Church thriving, hearing God clearly, and creating an environment in which His agenda flourishes.”

According to Mbonye, the Coalition’s vision is to mobilize and empower believers to step into leadership roles in society without compromising their faith, ensuring that the Gospel remains the ultimate guiding force in national and global development.

He appealed especially to those he called “remnants”—believers who remain true to the core message of Christ—to rise above conformity and act as bold stewards of God’s vision in every sector.

The message was clear: the time has come for the Church to reclaim its essential place in shaping the future.

The formation of the Remnant Identity Coalition may well signal a new chapter for Uganda’s evangelical and Pentecostal movements—one that is bolder, more coordinated, and focused on influence beyond the pulpit.
